This is the First UN Committee, also known as the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), as it primarily deals with issues related to global security, disarmament, and conflict prevention.
It is for those who are interested in politics through a security and peacekeeping lens. It offers a great research experience for those wanting to study international relations, political science, or security studies at university, but it can be very enjoyable also for laymen.
The Disarmament and International Security Committee includes every member state of the UN, so all delegates wishing to apply can choose any country they can think of, as long as it is a part of the United Nations.
